Rare signed Castellani brooch with antique coins, made of 750 gold (tested and guaranteed).
The exceptional historical brooch by Castellani consists of two antique coins (Roman or Hellenistic) held in corded, antique gold frames in the finest goldsmith's work. The brooch is signed on the back with the Castellani signet (see photo).
The brooch has a very well-functioning, contemporary pin with a gold C-hook.
The Castellani goldsmith family, which began in the 19th century with the Italian brothers Alessandro and Augusto Castellani, is known for unique designs inspired by antiquity and the Renaissance, executed with the highest level of craftsmanship and quality. For three generations, the Castellani family created what is known as "Italian archaeological jewelry", influenced by the precious Etruscan, Roman, Greek and Byzantine antiquities that were excavated at that time.
The preserved pieces of jewelry from Castellani still impress today with their craftsmanship and beauty.
The rare brooch presented here was created around 1870 and is a sought-after collector's item.
