Wonderful antique enameled medallion pendant with seed beads in gold doublé.

The high oval locket is engraved on the front with a large flower decorated with nine seed pearls. The blossom is highlighted by the black enamel that smoothly surrounds the blossom.
The locket back is completely covered in enamel and is slightly more bulbous in shape. On the side the medallion can be opened by a flap hinge and holds small treasures inside.

The medallion pendant was created around 1880 and is a fine example of the detailed jewellery art of Historicism. It can be combined with various chains by means of a movable eyelet and is a wonderful collector's item with sentimental value.
