Description
Historic dormeuse earrings with diamond roses, crafted from 750 white gold (stamped and guaranteed).
A round dangle sits on hook clasps with practical hinged bows, which are set with a total of 16 round, sparkling diamond roses and create a fine accent on the ear. The diamonds have a total stone weight of ca. 0.75 carats and are in the beautiful quality range (I-J, SI2-P).
The name of the earrings is derived from the French verb "dormir" (= to sleep): small earrings, which sit close to the earlobe and are often fitted with hinged hoops, were intended to be worn while sleeping. Towards the end of the 19th century in particular, people abandoned long, pompous earrings in favor of more discreet pieces such as dormeuse earrings.
These elegant earrings were created around 1920!
Dimensions of the earrings: 1.3 x 0.8 cm.
Diameter of the diamonds: ca. 1.9 - 2.5 mm, total ca. 0.75 ct (I-J, SI2-P).
Total weight: 3.0 grams.
Condition: Very good historical condition, freshly cleaned, see photos.
You will receive the earrings lovingly packaged in one of our pretty cases and with a certificate of authenticity.
