Description
Fine English ring with Wedgwood cameo, worked in rose gold 375 / 9 ct (stamped, tested and guaranteed).
The oval ring head is set in the center with a Wedgwood cameo, with the image of Diana accompanied by a stag. The goddess of the hunt is also considered the guardian of girls and women, and for this very reason is a coveted piece for antique jewelry lovers. The fine English jasperware with its typical matt blue surface harmonises perfectly with the rose gold alloy and the ornamentally decorated ring band.
Josiah Wedgwood and Sons Ltd, subsequently Josiah Wedgwood Ltd, was an English manufacturer of artisan worked ceramics, particularly noted for its Creamware, Basaltware and Jasperware. The origins of the traditional company date back to the second half of the 18th century.
The ring was created in Chester around 1918 and features city marks, year letter and Maker's Mark.
The historic piece of jewellery is a handsome rarity, combining classicism and the beginnings of the 20th century.
