Description
Wonderful historical brooch made of rose gold 585 / 14 ct (tested and guaranteed), set with an oval faceted synthetic Verneuil Ruby in a frame of ten old-cut diamonds. Two further ones flank the central motif with some spacing and on the left and right. The twelve sparkling old-cut diamonds have an additional stone weight of approx. 1.2 carats and are in the middle and the colour and purity range (i-j, VS2).The elegant color combination of ruby and diamonds and the shape of the pin is typical for the turn of the century.
The Verneuil Ruby was invented by Mr. Verneuil in 1895 and people at that time were so proud of this technical and chemical achievement that even in very high quality jewellery such as this one, stones of this type were often used.
The brooch comes from a Düsseldorf family and was made around 1910. It is still in its original case!
This fine piece of jewellery can be attached to the lapel or directly to the collar of the blouse.
