4 grüne Turmaline, ca. 3,5 - 7 mm, ca. 1,9 ct.
Description
Adorable Art Nouveau pendant with tourmalines made of gold-plated silver (tested and guaranteed).
This delightful pendant in an oval shape captivates with the floral design language typical of the period. A floral motif with delicate white enameled leaves is accented with faceted tourmalines in radiant violet and light green.
In addition, a purple teardrop-shaped tourmaline hangs from the top of the jewel's eyelet and a cabochon-cut green tourmaline finishes it off at the bottom.
Altogether, the tourmalines have a weight of approx. 2.76 carats.
In addition to its filigree form, the piece of jewellery also conveys a very special symbolism: the colours of the setting are to be understood as a political statement, and they were also a symbol of recognition for the women's movement.
The motto of the suffragettes was "give women vote", for which the first letters of the colours "green, white and violet" stand.
The pendant was created around 1910 in England, transports a political statement and is an absolute must-have for every antique jewellery lover and collector!
Dimensions of the pendant (incl. eyelet): 7.2 x 2.3 cm.
Measures of the violet tourmalines: ca. 3,1 -3,5 mm, ca. 0,86 ct.
Dimensions of the green tourmalines: approx. 3.5 - 7 mm, approx. 1.9 ct.
