Description
Gorgeous art nouveau pendant with chain in yellow gold 585 / 14 Kt (stamped and guaranteed).
The charming pendant captivates with its typical floral design language of that epoch. A cloverleaf motif of fine, white enamelled gold struts is accentuated with four round, faceted peridots in a brilliant green. The centrepiece of the jewellery is a light violet tourmaline. Together, the peridots weigh approx. 0.2 carats, the tourmaline weighs approx. 0.1 carats.
In addition to its filigree form, the jewellery also conveys a very special symbolism: the colours of the trimming are to be understood as a political statement, and the colours were also a symbol of recognition of the women's movement. The motto of the suffragettes was "give women vote", for which the initial letters of the colours "green, white and violet" stand.
The pendant hangs on a simple chain, which emphasises the unique piece of jewellery with its simplicity and additional features.
It was created around 1915 in England, and is a political statement and an absolute must-have for every antique jewellery lover and collector!
