Extravagant medallion pendant from Victor Mayer, made of yellow gold 585 / 14 Kt (stamped, guaranteed and signed).

The highly oval medallion is elaborately decorated with finest green translucent enamel on a guilloché background. Above it is a latticework reminiscent of leaf tendrils and set with a total of eight brilliant-cut diamonds and eight round faceted rubies. Under the applied gold arches, the green enamel glows beautifully and contrasts charmingly with the bright red rubies.
The diamonds have a total stone weight of approx. 0.48 carats and are of excellent quality (g-h, VVS).

On the reverse side the medallion has a golden frame, which offers space for photographs or small miniatures. The pendant can be attached to different chains according to taste through an eyelet which is also decorated with floral motifs.

The motif and design of the piece of jewellery are in the tradition of the famous magnificent eggs, which Carl Fabergé produced in the late 19th century as court jeweller at the Russian tsar's court. In 1918, production was discontinued and only resumed in 1989/90, when Fabergé found a new partner in the Victor Mayer jewellery factory, which had already been founded in 1890 and was familiar with the original techniques and enamel recipes. From 1989/90 to 2009 the Mayer company continued the Fabergé production.
To this day, Victor Mayer GmbH und Co. kg is known worldwide for high-quality jewellery and for the preservation of historical craft techniques, such as glass enamel and guilloche.

Especially in combination with the matching bracelet and ring (see article numbers 20208786 and 20208787), the medallion is an absolute eye-catcher that can be worn excellently on special occasions.
