Description
Extraordinary historical watch chain made of silver 800 (stamped and guaranteed) with a large, foldable box for matches in the shape of an Egyptian sarcophagus. The softly falling chain is equipped on one side with a large spring ring and on the other side with a carabiner, making it easy to connect to a pocket watch. The can, which is attached to the chain by a large eyelet, is finely decorated on the front and back and can be opened by a hinge.
This individual piece of jewellery was created around 1925 in Germany and is an extravagant companion from the Art Deco era, when Howard Carter's excavation of Tutankhamun's tomb in 1922 led to a great enthusiasm for pharaohs and mummies. An exclusive must have for every antique jewellery lover!
