Description
Rare Art Nouveau brooch from Theodor Fahrner, made of silver (stamped and guaranteed as well as signed). The disc-shaped brooch, deepened in a hammer blow, is decorated with a full-surface flower and leaf motif in cell and pit enamel. Yellow, green and violet tones dominate, single black accents provide depth in the floral design. At the back there is a safely functioning needling with C-hook.
This stylish brooch was created around 1910 by Theodor Fahrner. The design can be attributed to the draughtsman Hermann Häussler, who was employed from 1908 to 1911 and enriched the production of the house at the beginning of the 20th century with designs in enamelled floral decor (cf. Leonhardt u. Zühlsdorff 2005, Theodor Fahrner. Jewellery between avant-garde and tradition). The wonderful brooch sets a very special accent to many different outfits and is a rare testimony to the jewelry creation of the early 20th century.
Diameter of the brooch: 4,9 cm.
Weight: 22.2 grams.
