Description
Plain vintage crop chain / traditional costume necklace in partly blackened silver (tested and guaranteed), made of four rows of solid pea chains and an openwork central cartridge representing the attribute of St. Hubertus, patron saint of hunting: a deer carrying a crucifix between the rungs of its antlers. The motif is framed by a decorative rocaille ornament. Two chain sliders, which are worked into the strands and function as side cartridges, are particularly ingenious. These sliders can be moved according to preference, so that the pea chains can be worn sometimes gathered, sometimes softly falling. The necklace is closed with a securely working buckle.
This distinctive piece of jewellery was created around 1950 and is a versatile addition to traditional costumes and dirndls.
