Rare antique bracelet with seven lava cameos in oval links, set in gold-plated metal.
The historical cameos show seven ladies dressed in antique style in profile. All have wavy hair decorated with ribbons or flowers. Their robes are elegantly gathered around their shoulders. The lava cameos, which are arranged according to size, are of different colors and captivate with their soft earth tones ranging from brown to beige and black.
The piece of jewelry is fastened with a secure and newly hand-finished buckle.
This exquisite piece of historical jewelry was created around 1860 and is a testimony to the great enthusiasm for antiquities in the 19th century. The excavation sites of Pompeii and Herculaneum were extremely popular and significant stops on educational trips in the 19th century, from where pieces of jewelry like this were brought back as souvenirs.
