Wonderful antique porcelain brooch in a simple, solidly crafted frame of gilded sterling silver 925 (stamped and guaranteed), which is a modern addition. The brooch is set with a fine miniature painting, which shows a delicate representation of mother and child. On the back side the brooch has a safely working needle with safety slide.
The brooch was made around 1880 in Italy. Her motif and colourfulness are entirely committed to the romantic sentimental painting of the end of the 19th century, which was also inspired by the style of the great Renaissance painters such as Raphael. The fine brooch is a wonderful testimony to the art of jewellery around 1900 and a true collector's item.
