Description
Sensational Franconian Träubles chain / traditional costume chain made of partially gold-plated silver (tested and guaranteed).
This piece of jewellery consists of eight rows of solid pea chains, the last strand of which is longer and thus garland-shaped around the neck of the wearer. The highlight is a magnificent trapezoidal clasp decorated with a bouquet of sculpturally elaborate floral motifs. Underneath is a particularly beautiful hanging in the form of a stylized bow and a gilded bellflower. It is attached to the decorative clasp by an eyelet and is made of fine silver filigree. The chain is closed with a hook on the back of the buckle.
The beautiful antique "Träubleskette" was made around 1830 in Franconia and is particularly well known from the Nuremberg area. It got its name from the characteristic hanging, which often consisted of a bow and a stylized grape.
The necklace is worn close to the neck like the Southern German Choker necklace and is a traditional and yet extraordinary addition to traditional costume and dirndl.
Length of chain (shortest strand): 35 cm.
