Wonderful antique medallion pendant in yellow gold 585 / 14 Kt (stamped and guaranteed).

The high oval medallion is set on the front in a scroll relief with five round turquoise cabochons and two seed pearls. On the back it opens by a hinged joint and hides two glass frames inside, which can hold small portraits.

The medallion pendant was made around 1890 and is a fine example of the quality craftsmanship and detail of Historicist jewellery. It can be combined with various necklaces by means of a movable eyelet and is a wonderful love-holder piece with sentimental value.

Dimensions of the medallion (incl. eyelet): 4.8 x 2.7 cm.
Diameter of the turquoise: approx. 2.3 mm.
Diameter of the seed beads: ca. 2,1 mm.
Weight: 12.2 grams.
