Gorgeous antique brooch of the Belle Époque, worked in yellow gold 585 / 14 Kt and silver (stamped, tested and guaranteed).
This exquisite piece of jewellery is composed of fine floral tendril and foliage motifs and is set with 90 beautifully sparkling diamonds in old and rose cut. A central old-cut diamond of approx. 0.33 carat is particularly striking, which is highlighted by raised claw settings and is in the beautiful medium quality range (g-h, si1-si2).
The diamonds have a total stone weight of approx. 1.0 carat and are complemented by nine finely shimmering pearls in delicate shades of grey. Three of the pearls are attached to the lower edge of the brooch as movable suspensions.
The yellow gold brooch on the back has a small folding lever so that the piece of jewellery can be securely attached to clothing.
This rare historical brooch was made around 1890 in Vienna and is a testimony to the Belle Époque, a time of peace, marked by economic and cultural upswing, in which elegant pieces of jewellery with splendid gemstone settings were appreciated.
