Description
Aparte historical brooch in yellow gold 585 / 14 Kt (tested and guaranteed) and a finely cut cameo in delicate pink Conch shell. The Gemme shows the representation of a maenad in profile to the left. The maenads come from the retinue of the wine god Bacchus and are characterized by their typical attributes: the hair decorated with vine leaves, a fur placed around the shoulders (here ram skin) and the thyrsos (a staff crowned with a pine cone). The oval cameo sits in a smooth frame, which is decorated with sculpturally curved tendril motifs. On the back it has a simple needling with C-hooks.
The exquisite brooch was created around 1900 and is a wonderful collector's item for every antique jewelry lover.
