Description

Large vintage stag beetle brooch with enamel and diamonds, made of yellow gold 900 / 22 carat (tested and guaranteed).

The pretty brooch made of high-quality gold is modelled on a stag beetle and decorated with an imaginative enamel overlay shimmering in shades of red and green. The veins on the wings are fine gold bars, which contrast beautifully with the colourful enamel. The centre of the wings and the chest are set with a total of six diamonds totalling ca. 0.16 carats (H-I, VS1-VS2). The diamonds are set in white gold, which accentuates their sparkle beautifully.

The delicately crafted insect legs and the typical, naturalistic ‘antlers’ on the head, as well as the overall lively design of the beetle, are a testament to the high quality and craftsmanship.

The brooch closes on its back with a well-functioning prong setting with a safety slide.

The impressive beetle was created around 1960 and comes from Munich. It is an attractive and individual piece of jewellery and typical of the period of its creation, when large and finely enamelled animal brooches were very popular.
